Kate Winslet Won't Share Her Retirement Plan 'Because It's Rude and Sexual': 'It's So Inappropriate'

Kate Winsletis keeping her retirement plans a secret.

During Winslet’s Tuesday, Sept. 24 appearance onThe Late Show with Stephen Colbertto promote her new movieLee, hostStephen Colbertasked theAcademy Awardwinner, 48, what she wants to do with her life when she chooses to quit acting. The question came after Winslet shared that she has not filmed any new projects in the last year.

“I don’t think I can say what I would do because it’s so inappropriate. No, I can’t,” Winslet jested, rejecting Colbert’s offer for her to whisper her ideas in his ear. “No, I actually can’t because it’s rude and sexual, so I can’t say it.”

“I went and met him and I got out of my car and he put his arms around me and said, ‘Do you know, I’ve always hoped ever sinceTitanicthat if there was a film made about my mother that you might play her?’ " she said of their first meeting. “I did sort of think, ‘Okay, do I believe that?’ But he was just completely wonderful.”
