Katy Perry Reportedly Rang in 40 with a Glam Orient Express-Themed Train Trip

Katy Perryis celebrating 40 in style.

The “Firework” singer, whose birthday was on Oct. 25, appears to have spent the milestone day alongside friends and loved ones with an Orient Express-themed party. The celebration, whichSemafor reportstook place across Europe, was held last weekend.

The Orient Expresswas a luxury train line that ran for over80 years, stopping in Europe’s most luxurious cities.

The iconic train is perhaps most famous for being featured in the 1934 mystery novelMurder on the Orient Express, which was made into a star-studded film featuring stars likePenélope Cruz,Michelle PfeifferandDaisy Ridleyin 2017.

Friend and celebrity stylistJohnny Wujekshared photos from the festivities tohis Instagramon Oct. 29. The celebration included period-appropriate costumes, antique train cars, and plenty of mystery-themed games.

“We Orient Expressed our LOVE for the one and only@katyperryto celebrate her 40th trip around the Sun. If anyone knows how to throw a Party it’s KP.#whataTRIP,” he wrote in the caption.

The post also featured a video of what appears to be a friend toasting Perry, with fiancéOrlando Bloomsmiling in the background.

While it looks like the formerAmerican Idoljudge went all out this year, the singer has spent the past several birthdays decidedly more low-key.

While blowing out birthday candles during a small on-set celebration with fellowIdoljudges in 2023, Perry said, “I’ve got everything, I’m so blessed,” in a statement toEntertainment Tonight.  “I know what I’m wishing for, I’m wishing for peace,’ she added.
