Kelly Clarkson, Backstreet Boys, Blake Shelton and More to Feature on Rascal Flatts' 'Unique' Upcoming Duets Album

Rascal Flatts' new album is more than country.

On March 6, Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney of the country trio announced their upcoming collaboration album,Life Is a Highway: Refueled Duets— and artists across many genres are featured on the project.

In addition to the band’s latest single “I Dare You” with theJonas Brothers, the upcoming album also includes collaborations withKelly Clarkson,Backstreet Boys,Blake Shelton,Jason Aldean,Carly Pearce, Brandon Lake, Ashley Cooke, Jordan Davis and Lzzy Hale.

Nine of the album’s tracks are reimagined versions of hits from Rascal Flatts' decades-long catalog, while “I Dare You” is a new composition.

“It was such an honor to create this project with such incredibly talented artists,” said lead vocalist LeVox, 54, in a statement. “It’s a pretty indescribable feeling having your colleagues and friends do your songs in such unique ways and knock your socks off with the results.”

He continued, “This album is just another attempt for us to thank our fans for the blessings they’ve given us on this crazy journey the past 25 years, thanks for riding along with us!”

Rascal Flatts reunited last year after going on hiatus in 2020. The group kicked off the Life Is a Highway Tour last month in celebration of their 25th anniversary.

The tour resumes March 6 in Columbus, Ohio and continues through April 5 with a final show in Jacksonville, Fla.

“We’re so excited to kick off this next chapter of Rascal Flatts with this single, working withKevin,Joeand Nick is such a blast, they’re class acts,” he said in a statement at the time.

DeMarcus continued, “I think this song fits perfectly into our catalogue while also showing off something new and exciting, and we can’t wait to share it with our fans on the road!”
