Kelly Ripa Recalls Awkward Run-in with Husband Mark Consuelos’ Ex-Girlfriend

Kelly Ripaisn’t a stranger to her husbandMark Consuelos' old girlfriends.

On the March 11 broadcast ofLive! with Kelly and Mark, the duo were chatting about how patients may lie to their doctors about how many alcoholic beverages they may consume when Kelly, 54, shared a hilarious anecdote about running into one of Mark’s ex-girlfriends.

After theRiverdalealum, 53, quipped that telling your doctor about your alcohol intake was like telling your partner now many boyfriends you’ve had, Kelly recalled unintentionally meeting her husband’s old flame in a Florida drive-thru.

“When you roll up to the drive-thru in Florida and the woman handing you your lunch says, ‘I used to date your husband,’ you don’t need to know anything else,” she laughed.

Though she couldn’t place a year, Kelly, Mark and their son Joaquin were in Wildwood, New Jersey for a wrestling tournament when she had the surprise run-in. Being a New Jersey native, Mark had joked that the match would be a potential mine-field for Kelly’s ex-boyfriends.

“He’s like, ‘Oh, we’re in your neck of the woods. I wonder how many of your ex-boyfriends are going to be there? I wonder how many of your ex-boyfriends were going to meet? I wonder how many of your ex-boyfriends we’re going to interact with,'” she said, impersonating Mark. “And I’m like, ‘Probably zero.’ And he’s like, ‘Okay, we’ll see, we’ll see.'”

Kelly continued, “And he’s like talking to Joaquin, ‘All your mom’s ex-boyfriends are going to be there and you’re going to have to beat their kids up!’”

Instead, “within three seconds” of walking into the tournament, one of Mark’s ex-girlfriends from Florida was amongst the crowd.

“Her sons were good wrestlers, too! They are, they’re great,” Mark shrugged before Kelly added, “So I rest my case. The people rest!”

Mark may have his fair share of exes, but when he met Kelly in 1995 during a screen test forAll My Children, it was love at first sight.

During the Feb. 12 episode of SiriusXM’sLet’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa, Mark recalled the moment he knew his wife was the one during their time on the soap opera.

“I forget what top you had on, but you were holding a cup of coffee and smoking a cigarette like out of a Parisian, editorial page,” he said. “She smoked a cigarette like someone who’s been in Paris all their lives. She looked like this French vixen.”

“I was like, ‘Wow, she’s got really beautiful eyes.’ Her cheekbones are very specific, her hair is amazing, but her eyes and lips were, I was like, ‘Wow, she’s got great lips,'” he smiled.
