Lala Kent Says She Hasn't Talked to James Kennedy Since His Domestic Violence Arrest — but Has Been Texting Ally Lewber

Lala Kentis weighing in onJames Kennedy’s arrest.

During an Amazon livestream on Thursday, Dec. 19, Kent, 34, answered a fan-submitted question about her formerVanderpump Rulescostar. As she was asked if she’s “spoken with James at all since the incident,” referring to his Dec. 10 arrest on suspicion of domestic violence, she said, “I have not.”

The businesswoman revealed that she has been in contact withhis girlfriend Ally Lewber, though. “I’ve spoken with Ally,” Kent shared. “I checked in on her and she wrote me a text back and that’s all I’m really gonna share on that topic.”

Later in the live stream, when another fan asked for her opinion on Kennedy, 32, and Lewber’s relationship, Kent said she doesn’t have “many thoughts.”

“When something happens in someone else’s relationship, you first and foremost want to make sure like, ‘Hey, how are you doing, are you okay? I’m here if you need me,'” she said. “But beyond that, I really don’t sit and think about anybody else’s relationship.”

PEOPLE has attempted to reach out to Kennedy multiple times for comment.

Lewber was not confirmed to be involved in the incident that led to Kennedy’s arrest last week, as a spokesperson for the Burbank Police Department only confirmed that they responded to a call at his home “regarding an argument between a man and a woman.”

The DJ was “booked for misdemeanor domestic violence and later posted bail,” the spokesperson told PEOPLE.

Kennedy addressed the arrest for the first time in a statement on his Instagram Stories earlier this week.

“I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life.I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth and being present for my loved ones,” he wrote on Dec. 17. “Navigating challenging moments is not easy, but I am determined to learn, grow, and move forward with the incredible support system around me.

Lewber also released a statement following her boyfriend’s arrest, as she wrote on her Instagram Stories on Dec. 14, “Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and support and for checking in on me.”

“I’m okay and taking the time I need right now,” she continued. “I deeply appreciate all the kindness and respect for my privacy during this time.”
