Linkin Parkis back — with additional band members and a new album.
The two additional musicians will join the lineup of Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix and Joe Hahn.
According to a press release, Shinoda, Delson, Farrell, and Hahn quietly began meeting up over the past few years. Instead of “trying to restart the band,” they wanted to work on their friendship and creative connection. After inviting different friends and creatives to join them in the studio, they found kinship with Armstong and Brittain.
Linkin Park also announced their first new music in seven years with their blistering new single"The Emptiness Machine."
“Let you cut me open just to watch me bleed / Gave up who I am for who you wanted me to be / Don’t know why I’m hopin' for what I won’t receive / Fallin' for the promise of the emptiness machine,” Armstrongs sings on the track.
The band also announced their first new album since 2017 withFrom Zero, which will be released on Nov. 15 via Warner Records.
Of the new album, Shinoda said in a press release statement: “Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking.”
He said that the LP “sonically and emotionally” is about “past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life.”
Shinoda added that the band feels “really empowered with this new lineup.”
“We’re weaving together the sonic touchpoints we’ve been known for and still exploring new ones,” he concluded.
