There aresignificantly fewerpolling locations available in the 2024 election compared to 2020, which could result in longer travel times and decreased modes of transportation to the polls. But, asUber statedin a press release of their own, transportation access “shouldn’t be a barrier for any eligible citizen to vote.”

To claim Uber’s Election Day discount, riders can find a “Go Vote” button on the app’s home screen, where they’ll be prompted to enter their home address and find their polling location. Then, voters can request a ride to that location, which will be automatically added as the destination.

Uber’s Election Day offer will start at 4 a.m. and end at 11:59 p.m., in riders’ local time. Additionally, Uber will feature a special American flag-wrapped logo on all UberX icons on Election Day to remind citizens to vote and will also offer 25% off on election night UberEats orders.

This year, the presidential race sees Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov.Tim Walzon the Democratic ticket, running against Republican former President Donald Trump and Ohio Sen.J.D.
