Maci Bookout McKinney Says ‘Time Is So Much Better Spent’ in New Co-Parenting Dynamic with Ryan Edwards and Fiancée (Exclusive)

Maci Bookout McKinneyis loving her new normal when it comes to parenting her oldest.

The mom of three shares son Bentley, 16, with exRyan Edwards. Though co-parenting between the two hasn’t always been easy, Maci tells PEOPLE that things are “a lot easier” now that she and husband Taylor McKinney are working with Edwards and his fiancéeAmanda Conner.

“I’d say the biggest standout thing for me is that I feel like time is so much better spent, because it’s enjoyable,” she shares about the co-parenting dynamic while telling PEOPLE about the latest installment ofTeen Mom: The Next Chapter.

“It’s not hard anymore. Even the things that are a little bit difficult, it’s just easier to work through and get through. I feel supported, and I think we all do.”

Maci is grateful that things are “very nice” between the four and that “everybody’s healthy.”

“I’ve never really felt supported in the co-parenting realm, so it’s new,” Maci, who is also mom to daughterJayde, 9, and sonMaverick, 8, says, “This season of life is a high.”

As the second half of season 2 of the series begins, the mom of three says she looks forward to the fact that “the audience will get to see [something] they’ve never seen before, Ryan and I co-parenting and really working on our relationship.”

Maci, 33, left a sweet comment on a recentInstagram postfrom Conner, where she wears a pair of gray cotton overalls as Edwards stands behind her, holding her bump.
