A man in northern Pakistan is facing a murder charge in connection with the killing of the administrator of a WhatsApp group chat.
Mushtaq Ahmed was fatally shot in the evening of Thursday, March 6, in Peshawar, about 116 miles from the Pakistani capital of Islamabad, perAFP.
A man identified only as Ashfaq in police documents was charged with murder in connection to the killing, the outlet reported, citing the documents and local police.
Ashfaq was reportedly angry “in reaction to removal from WhatsApp group,” Ahmed’s brother said in the statement.

The suspect and victim had decided to reconcile and arranged for a meeting. However, Ashfaq showed up to the meeting with a gun and fatally shot Ahmed, per the statement.
