A girlfriend’s habit of snoozing her alarm over and over again every morning has set off alarm bells in her boyfriend’s head.

The man described on Reddit’s“Am I the A——” forumwhy his girlfriend is “mad” at him and giving him “the cold shoulder” after he decided to not wake her up when she slept through six of her alarms.

“My girlfriend is a chronic snoozer but has a crazy early job — she has to wake up at 5 a.m. She sets six alarms every morning, but half the time, she sleeps right through them,” he explained.

Normally, the boyfriend said, he wakes her up so she’s not late for work.

“The thing is, I’m not a morning person either, and her alarms constantly disrupt my sleep,” he added. “I’ve told her over and over that she needs to be responsible for waking up on her own, but she always brushes it off, saying, ‘You’re already awake anyway.’ ”

However, the man wrote that he recently chose to let his girlfriend wake up on her own, even if she snoozed.

“Yesterday, I decided I was done being her backup alarm,” he said. “Her alarm went off six times, and I didn’t wake her up. She ended up oversleeping and rushing out the door, barely making it to work on time.”

“She was mad at me, saying I knew she needed to be up and could’ve just shaken her awake,” he continued. “I told her it’s not my job to make sure she gets up, and now she’s giving me the cold shoulder.”

“NTA [not the a——],” many people answered, as one elaborated, “It’s the worst thing when you can’t sleep because of someone else’s alarms.”
