One of the neighbors, Adolfo Lang, later told police that he heard a loud banging on his door and saw Mary outside knocking “frantically” — and soon encountered a haunting scene.
Lang said he saw the suspect, later identified as Nathan, walk up his driveway with 4-year-old Seraphine behind him, barefoot, as the suspect pursued Mary, per the affidavit. Upon realizing Nathan was behind her, Mary soon fled the scene, the security footage shows.
