A man who has been married for nearly 50 years wants to leave his wife.

“Two years ago, she went off her medication, became manic for 10 months and was hospitalized four times … During her manic period, her actions toward me were just too much.”

It’s unclear exactly what the woman said or did to set the advice-seeker off, but, he says, what happened went too far.

“I can never love her again or want her as my wife,” he said.

To make matters worse, she has “taken up cigar smoking,” which makes her clothes “reek.”

“I’m just her caretaker, and my life is miserable,” the West Virginia-based man admitted.

He pointed out that he’s “worked hard” to save money over the years, so if he were to divorce his wife then she “should be okay financially” getting half of their marital assets. However, he worries about “shifting [his] burden” onto their three adult children.
