A 76-year-old woman who went missing for four days was found alive in a remote part of an Oregon county, authorities said.
In a news release, theLane County Sheriff’s Officesaid Cheryl Leigh Guajardo, of Bend, was last believed to be driving in the Lowell area on Tuesday, Dec. 3. An investigation into her disappearance began the following day.
The sheriff’s office said a coordinated search of the area involved dozens of volunteers, deputies, and personnel from several assisting agencies.
A statewide Silver Alert was requested over concerns that she may have left the area.

Then on Friday, Dec. 7, at about 11 a.m. local time, “searchers located Guajardo’s vehicle on an overgrown spur road north of Lookout Point Lake [in Lake County], and a short time later, found Guajardo alive and responsive.”
Eventually, an ambulance took Guajardo to an area hospital, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office said.
In addition to the agencies involved in the search, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office thanked “the many residents of our state who have kept an eye out for Guajardo, and to Guajardo’s friends and family who assisted with the investigation and search.”
