Morgan Riddleembraces her role as a “tennis WAG” online, despite what her critics say.
The influencer — who has been dating tennis starTaylor Fritzsince 2020 — opened up about the backlash she’s received over her tennis content in an interview onThe Squeezepodcast withTay Lautner.
“Historically, a lot of the older wives and partners on the [tennis] tour have been very private, heads down, in the box,” she explained. “They’re there to cheer on their partner and they didn’t have super public personas.”
Riddle revealed that when she first started posting content about her boyfriend’s career a couple of years back, “a clique of older wives” sent her videos to each other in a group chat and “made fun” of her for her content.
“I think [the backlash happened] because it’s different,” she continued. “People expected me to sit in the box, be relatively private and not capitalize on my partner’s career. And I kinda came in guns blazing. I was like, ‘Well, f— that,’ and posted whatever I wanted to.”

“Taylor has always been really good about [blocking out the noise],” Riddle said. “When it first started happening, I would be like, ‘Oh my gosh, look at what this person said’ and he’d be like, ‘Why are you reading that?’ "
“He went pro when he was 17 so he has dealt with that for so much, much longer than I had,” she continued. “So he was very helpful in coaching me through that.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Riddle addressed criticisms that she is “capitalizing” on Fritz’s career to further her own ambitions as an online creator, noting that her partner is super supportive of her career.
“He’s been really good about [defending] me and what I’m doing,” she said about her partner, noting he “has always encouraged” and “supported” her.
“People write crazy things about us and our relationship,” she continued. “[But] we really love each other. We have a very healthy relationship [and] nothing that anyone says online is gonna have any sort of effect on that.”
