A Texas man is facing a jury trial to determine whether or not he is responsible for starving his 4-year-old son to death in 2021.
According toTexas Public Radio,KSAT,CBS AustinandKENS 5, prosecutors from the Bexar County District Attorney’s office allege that 31-year-old Brandon Lee Cervera and his then-wife Miranda Casarez starved Cervera’s son Benjamin to death on Aug. 17, 2021.
Cervera’s trial began on Tuesday, Sept.

An Iowa man is facing a murder charge after allegedly telling police he had plotted for several days before he strangled his young son last month.
Jack Matthew Schleier, 5, died on Oct. 29, according to hisobituary.
His father, 45-year-old Matthew Schleier was arrested on a first-degree murder charge,The GazetteandTheKansasCityStarreport, citing court records and his initial court appearance.
The child died after being transported to the hospital.

An Australian Army veteran vowed to kill his daughter’s fiancé just two days before fatally gunning him down, prosecutors told the New South Wales Supreme Court in Sydney on Monday.
Luke Samouel Simon, 60, allegedly told his daughter’s fiancé, Damien Conlon, 38, to get on his knees and “confess” before shooting him in the head in February 2023, theNew Zealand Heraldreports.
