Pamela Andersonis feeling “grateful, overwhelmed… and blessed” after receiving her first-everGolden Globe nomination.
“It is never too late to dream, to start again, to stay open to possibilities — we are not all so lucky,” she continued.

“I wish everyone my love and thanks while I navigate this new exciting chapter,” added Anderson.
In her note,the formerBaywatchstaralso thanked the film’s production company, Roadside Attractions and fellow nomineeMiley Cyrus, who is up for best original song. Cyrus cowrote “Beautiful That Way,” fromThe Last Showgirl’s soundtrack, with Andrew Wyat and Lykke Zachrisson.
InThe Last Showgirl, Anderson plays Shelly, a soft-spoken Las Vegas dancer who is at a crossroads when the hotel that hosts her long-running show announces it will end after decades.

Though Anderson has been in the industry for decades with roles in high-profile shows likeBaywatch,Home Improvementand the campy seriesV.I.P., this is the first time Anderson is being recognized as a serious actress and awards contender.

In a November interview withEntertainment Weekly, Coppola compared her star to another icon of the 20th century.
“She is theMarilyn [Monroe]of our time,” the director told the outlet. She had the realization while watching Anderson’s revealing 2023 documentaryPamela, A Love Story.
“I saw a lot of parallels with [her character] Shelly, but I also saw this was a person that was really hungry to show her talents,” Coppola said of Anderson.
The Last Showgirlis in select theaters on Friday, Dec. 13 before expanding in January.
The Golden Globes air live on Sunday, Jan. 5, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.
