Elsewhere in the interview, the actor credited both Champion and his family for leading him to land his plum role inThe White Lotus’ latest season.
“It was funny because every time we would watch it, my family would always just say, ‘Why didn’t you audition for this show? Why aren’t you in this? This role would’ve been perfect for you, blah, blah, blah,’ ” Patrick continued. “Finally, when I got the audition for this, it was like, ‘Okay, I got to nail this. I got to get this.’ "
Patrick and Shriver, 68, created MOSH, which includes a line of brain-supporting protein bars, as part of their Alzheimer’s disease advocacy. Shriver told PEOPLE at Saturday’s event — which included a community walk — that when she got involved in the cause, “there was nothing about lifestyle.”
“I think what’s exciting is that no matter your age, you can start making changes [to your health] that are proactive today,” she said. “So walking and talking, which is why we’re starting with a walk. What you eat — which is where MOSH comes in — is super important. How you sleep? Are you in community? Are you learning? Are you continuing to learn? All of these things are super important.“Patrick said that with MOSH, he and his mom are trying to bring together and promote all of these healthy habits to help people reduce their risk of getting Alzheimer’s or other brain-related diseases.
“We wanted to kind of mix together our bars and people trying it and building the community, but also getting people out and active and using their brain and walking and socializing and meeting new people and stuff like that. So that’s kind of how we started, and it’s grown each time,” he told PEOPLE.
