“2024 was indeed a difficult year for me, a transitional year, filled with moments of uncertainty and pain. But I believe that in adversity we often find our deepest strength,” Princess Tatiana told the outlet when asked about the events and how she handles adversity, according to an English translation.
“Life’s challenges remind me how important it is to endure, to hope, to have faith in the strength of the human spirit. I leaned on my family, my friends and my wider environment for support and I drew enormous strength from them,” she continued. “Additionally, my involvement with mental health has been therapeutic for me, as it has allowed me to channel my energy into something positive, with a positive impact.”
Tatiana likened the quick succession of events to “an avalanche of changes in plain sight” and said that because of her ongoing work with the Uniform of Hope campaign, she couldn’t withdraw from the public eye “even if I wanted to.”
The initiative came together through multiple foundations and organizations, including the Greek Olympic committee, with the goal of educating the public, especially young people, about mental health issues through the stories of athletes who shared their experiences.
The princess said that she is now moving forward “with hope, knowing that even in the darkest moments there is always light and the opportunity to grow.”
Tatiana, who was born in Venezuela, toldBHMAgazinothat she continues to live in Greece, adding that she always “felt at home” there.
