An experienced snake catcher found out he still hasn’t seen everything.
On Feb. 10, Daniel Busstra shared on his Facebook page,Snake Catcher Dan, that he recently encountered a first in his career as a professional snake catcher in Australia.
“Snake found in bed!” Busstra started the post, which included a video of the find.
Surprisingly, finding a snake on a bed was not a first for Busstra; it’s where on the bed that was novel.
“I’ve found snakes on bed frames before. But never inside a pillow,” the caption continues.
The post’s clip shows footage of the reptile encounter. The video starts with Busstra narrating the situation.
“This is a first for me. I got told there was a snake that was in the bed,” the snake catcher says. “I searched around the bed, and I couldn’t find it in there.”
The footage shows Busstra opening the pillowcase of one of the pillows on a bed and peeking inside.
“I started looking through the pillow, and I saw a little green head poke out at me,” Busstra says in the clip shortly before revealing a small snake slithering around inside the pillowcase.
The snake catcher then grabs the “little fella” and tells the reptile, “You’re not supposed to be in bed.”
Busstra told his Facebook followers that no one was in danger during the unexpected situation because the scaly intruder was a “non-venomous common tree snake.”

According to Storyful, Busstra was called to the scene after the homeowner spotted the snake scooting into their bedroom. After removing the reptile from the pillow, Busstra relocated the snake to a less populated area.
