In the post, she shared a cute mother-son snap of her and Tennessee smiling at the camera. The actress, who wore a black shirt with an orange sweater, could be seen wrapping an arm around her son as he posed in a blue shirt with a white flower print.

“Happy 12th Birthday to my wonderful son, Tenn! 💙,” Witherspoon captioned the photo. “I’m so lucky to have your joyful, curious, hilarious spirit in my life making me laugh everyday. I love you, buddy 🥰.”

Witherspoon’s other sonDeacon Phillippe, 20, who she also shares with Ryan, also paid tribute to his brother in hisInstagram Storiesthe same day as his sister, sharing a photo of Tennessee eating a waffle while writing, “What up 12 🎂.”

He also shared a fun photo of the tween wearing glasses while riding in the passenger seat of a car with the crown emoji and a sweet brotherly snap wrapping his arms around Tennessee in a big hug as the pair smiled at the camera. Over the photo of them embracing he added, “Love this kid.”

Witherspoon and Tothfiled for divorcein March 2023 and settleda few months later in August 2023. Despite their separation, a source told PEOPLE in March 2023 that Tennessee was still the pair’s main “focus.”

“They love Tennessee… The move from Los Angeles to Nashville was a big deal for him,” the insider shared. “They don’t want the divorce to affect him negatively.They will continue to co-parent amicably. There is no drama.”
