Sarah Michelle Gellar Has an Unexpected Reaction to Seeing Her FormerBuffyEnemies Reunite

It looks like Buffy has buried the hatchet — or stake, as it were — with the villainous Trio.

On Sept. 10,Buffy the Vampire SlayeralumniTom Lenk, Adam Busch and Danny Strong posted a group photo on Instagram to the delight of fans and none other than costarSarah Michelle Gellar. The actors played demonologist Andrew Wells (Lenk), mad scientist Warren Mears (Busch) and sorcerer Jonathan Levinson (Strong), a.k.a. the Trio, in the beloved series, and became Buffy’s primary antagonists in season 6.

More than two decades after their characters tried to take over Sunnydale, however, there are no hard feelings between the actors and their onscreen nemesis. After Lenk urged fans to “Caption this photo” in a comment, Gellar replied: “Three people I adore.”

CastlestarNathan Fillion, who appeared in a five-episode arc as serial killer/priest Caleb inBuffy’s final season, also tried his hand at captioning the pic.

“This was the last known sighting of Evelyn,” he wrote, noting a woman who can be seen in the background of the photo between Lenk and Busch. “If you have any information regarding her whereabouts, please call 1-800-HEY ITS THOSE GUYS FROM BUFFY I LOVE THEM.”

Gellar, meanwhile, has had severalBuffyreunions of her own in recent years. In January 2023, the actressposed for a photo with James Marsters, who playedvampire bad boy Spike, at the premiere of her Paramount+ showWolf Pack.Then last September,Gellar hung out with Seth Green and Emma Caulfield, who played werewolf Oz and reformed demon Anya in the series, respectively, at anEd Sheeranconcert.
