Savannah Guthrie Shares Relatable New Year's Eve Food Fail: 'Intentions' vs 'Reality'

Savannah Guthrie’s New Year’s Eve sweet treats didn’t go quite as planned.

TheTodayshow cohostattempted to make a sparkly baked treat on Tuesday, Dec. 31 for her New Year’s Eve celebrations, she posted on Instagram.

Guthrie, 53, shared a picture of bright blue cake pops covered in delicate star sprinkles that she planned to bake. “New Years Eve intentions,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. The next slide, however, was a bit different than the previous one.

“New Year’s Eve reality,” she wrote beneath a picture of the chocolate cake pops on a baking tray. Some had sprinkles and frosting overflowing off the cake pop sticks. Others had no frosting at all.

Her baking misadventures didn’t thwart her New Year’s Eve celebration, though. Themother-of-twoshared other shots on her Instagram Stories of a cozy fireplace and flowers, along with a place setting with her name tag and selfies with loved ones.

Guthrie’s holiday season has been action-packed.She celebrated Christmas with her family, complete with matching red-and-white striped pajamas. “so very merry! ❤️💚,” she captioned the post.

Earlier in December, Guthrie and her daughter Vale, 10, joinedTodaycohostJenna Bush Hagerand her daughter Mila at a festive and brightholiday party at the White House. The coworkers alsoparticipated in a delicious cookie swap.

The 2024 holiday season also marked the end of an era — Guthrie’s longtime cohostHoda Kotbannounced that she was leaving the morning showin September, making this one Kotb’s final as a cohost. TheRockefeller Christmas Tree lighting ceremonywas Kotb’s last special she would host, and the friends shared a sweet moment on the broadcast as they cozied up and snowflakes fell.
