The2024 Golden Globe winner, 42, toldVarietyin a recent interview that he misses working with hisThe Falcon and the Winter Soldierco-star.
When Stan was asked if he will appear inCaptain America: Brave New World, set to hit theaters on Feb. 14, he noted that he has been preoccupied filming upcoming Marvel movieThunderbolts*.
“[Filming]Thunderbolts*,let me tell you, it was a much quieter year for me because I didn’t see Anthony Mackie,” the actor teased. “So, I’ll say that. Although I miss Anthony Mackie like daily, and it’s something I don’t like to admit.”

The two have co-starred in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2014’sCaptain America: The Winter Soldier. More recently, they reprised their respective superhero roles in the 2021 Disney+ seriesThe Falcon and the Winter Soldierwith Stan playing Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier and Mackie playing Sam Wilson/The Falcon. At the end of the series, Wilson assumes the role of Captain America following the events ofAvengers: Endgame.
It is unclear if Stan will appear in the fourthCaptain Americamovie – which is the first standalone movie for Mackie’s character.
Speaking ofThunderbolts*, Stan toldVariety, “It’s a weird group thrown together, and I think people are going to love it.”
The movie is also set to starFlorence Pugh,David Harbour,Wyatt RussellandJulia Louis-Dreyfus, all of whom will reprise their respective roles from the MCU. Additionally,Deadlinepreviously reported that Harrison Ford will reprise his character, Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, from the newCaptain Americamovie.
As for now, Stan is preoccupied navigating the ongoing awards season, following the buzzy release of his two latest movies,A Different ManandThe Apprentice.

Mackie crashed Stan’s backstage interview withEntertainment Tonightfollowing his win in what has now become a viral moment.
He entered the scene, chanting, “We won! We won!”
“It’s a team effort,” Stan said with a smile. “Captain America and the Winter Soldier. We’re coming back! … I do have to thank Anthony [Mackie] because, actually, back in the day when we were starting these press tours, they said, ‘This kid can’t talk, can’t smile, can’t say anything. We gotta put him with Anthony to get some life in him.’ "
He then told Mackie, “Maybe I learned from you. You have to keep smiling.”
