MomTok came into wider pop culture when the Hulu showThe Secret Lives of Mormon Wivesfirst premiered in 2024, starring Neeley, along withJennifer Affleck, Demi Engemann, Whitney Leavitt, Mikayla Matthews, Jessi Ngatikaura, Taylor Frankie Paul and Layla Taylor.Told You Sowillshare Neeley’s story from the beginning, and “lifts the veil for readers on what growing up Mormon is really like,” per the memoir’s synopsis. Neeley writes about her experience arriving at Brigham Young University on a tennis scholarship, where she says she was “unprepared” for her new environment, which put her at risk of following a “dark and dangerous path.”

“When I was going through the hardest trials of my life, my dad handed me a black diary. He told me to write everything down — the good, the bad and the ugly,” Neeley says. “He told me that maybe one day I could use it to help someone else. That’s exactly what I did, and I fell in love with writing. It became my passion.”
