After almost two weeks in South Africa,Simone BilesandJonathan Owenshave returned from theirepic honeymoon.
“Thank you, South Africa,” the 27-year-old Olympic gymnast wrote on herInstagramStories on Thursday, Feb. 27 before their journey back to the U.S. “My heart is so full.”
In arepost of the photo, the 29-year-old Chicago Bears safety added, “It’s been real, South Africa, more beautiful than I could have ever imagined.”
The couple arrived stateside at 6:23 a.m. local time the next morning, according to Biles’ Instagram.
Biles first began documenting her travels with Owens on Feb. 16.Married in April 2023, it wasn’t until two years later that the athletes decided to go on their long-awaited romantic holiday.
The 11-time Olympic gold medalist then shared a photo of herself and Owens clinking champagne flutes with a hotel suite in the background. “Made it to South Africa,” she wrote across the image in pink lettering.
The trip has involved date nights, multiple swim sessions — for one pool-side shot, Biles sported aleopard-print bikini— and even anencounter with a lionduring a guided tour of a wildlife reserve.
“Not gonna lie I almost s—” myself,” Biles joked in the caption of a video featuring a male lion slinking past their vehicle on her Instagram Stories.

Towards the end of her Instagram Stories, Biles was with her husband on the plane before they introduced a throwback video of them kissing while near a pool.

The fun-packed trip, meanwhile, was a long time coming.
After their 2023 wedding, the couple has been busy with their respective careers. Owens left the Green Bay Packers and signed atwo-year free-agent contract with the Chicago Bears. Biles, meanwhile, competed in the Paris Summer Olympics,taking home four medals.
Last summer, Owens explained that supporting one another is an element of their relationship he loves.
“I love watching [it] from an athlete’s perspective because that’s how you’d be great in any sport, is just being consistent and doing the same thing consistently good every day,” he said. “You know what I mean? I love to watch it and I love to be out there and be a cheerleader.”
