MeriandJanelle Brownappear to have different opinions when it comes to their ex Kody Brown paying off their shared Coyote Pass property.
As the two sit down to talk at Meri’s house, Janelle admits that she feels the need to “protect” herself when it comes to her share of the property, as she’s not confident Kody will help them pay for it. When Janelle saysshe thinks Meri should consider protecting herself too, Meri then replies that she is “not worried” about the situation.

In a confessional-style clip, Janelle says Meri must think Kody “will take care of her” despite his financial situation. The scene then cuts to Meri denying she thinks that about Kody, “but what I do expect is for him to be a gentleman,” she adds.
Meri continues, “Janelle and I are entitled to some of the property as well, and I expect him to be fair with us,” referring to Kody.
As the camera cuts back to the two sitting in Meri’s house, Janelle admits, “I feel like I better protect myself.”
After a long pause, Meri says, “Sorry that you felt like that.”

“Well, I mean, I think it’s just to be logical,” Janelle responds as the camera cuts to her in a confessional scene.
“This is very uncomfortable, this is very awkward for me. I still don’t know if I can trust Meri to not go right back and report to Kody about this conversation.”

Janelle previously opened up aboutwanting to possibly “lawyer up” against her exfor keeping her in the dark about the status of their shared Coyote Pass plot during a Sept. 22 episode ofSister Wives.
She also claimed that she and Meri have the most to lose, as the property “represents basically the only asset we would be taking from the marriage.” (Both Janelle and Meri left the plural marriage in 2022).
