An official synopsis hasn’t been released forSpider-Man 4. However, producerAmy Pascalhas spoken about what’s to come.
In the 2021 film, fans saw Holland return as Peter Parker and Zendaya as MJ to a world thatlearned of his superhero identity. Wishing to return to the way things were before everyone knew he was Spider-Man, Peter enlists help from Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to change the course of history.
Doctor Strange casts a spell to erase everyone’s memory of Spider-Man and Peter Parker, leaving Holland’s character with the chance to lead a life of his choosing.
“We have to deal with the fact that he decided he was going to give up being Peter Parker, and he was gonna focus on being Spider-Man, because being Peter Parker was too hard. So that’s what the movie is about," Pascal toldDeadlinein December 2024.

Holland will reprise his role as Spider-Man — and Pascal couldn’t be happier about his return to the franchise.
“He inhabited Peter Parker in a way that was completely unique. He was emotional. He was funny. He had a pathos to him that is hidden behind his smile," she toldThe Hollywood Reporterin June 2023 of Holland’s past performances. “But you can feel it. He’s hiding it from you in a way that’s beautiful.”
Pascal previously confirmed toVarietythat Zendaya was in talks to return as MJ, but no official announcement has been made. However, Holland revealed onThe Rich Roll Podcastin October 2024 that he and Zendayaread the script together.
So far, the only other cast member who has been confirmed isSadie Sink, perDeadlinein March 2025. No details about her character have been released.
The script forSpider-Man 4is written, and filming will start in the summer of 2025, according to Holland, who offered a film update onThe Tonight Showin October 2024.
Production will take place in London. Fans learned this tidbit when Holland’s charity,The Brothers Trust, announced a raffle in February 2025.
The grand prize was: “A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, Tom Holland, in London, on the movie set of Marvel’sSpider-Man 4.”
Spider-Man 4is too early in its development; therefore, a trailer has not been created yet.

When Holland and Zendaya’sSpider-Mantrilogy wrapped and hit theaters in 2021, Pascal confirmed toFandangoin November 2021 that the third installment wouldn’t be the last fans see of the friendly neighborhood hero.
“This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel … the last Spider-Man movie,” she told the outlet. “We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel.”
Pascal added, “We were thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies.”
With that said, it appears — though not confirmed — that moviegoers can expect a second trilogy, totaling six Holland-starring Spidey films in the MCU.
