Stranger Accidentally Crashes Couple's Beach Proposal: See the Romantic Moment Gone Wrong! (Exclusive)

A random woman accidentally invaded a couple’s beach proposal!

Tommy Ljunggren, 30, proposed to Aurora Sorensen, 25, on the beach in Koh Lanta, Thailand, on Nov. 19, 2024. Afterward, the Norway-based couple were excited to watch their filmed engagement, but were shocked to see a stranger in their video.

“Like I know we don’t own the beach but GURL, bless her,” she added in the caption.

An unknown woman enters the frame, prominently stomping through the water behind Ljunggren and Sorensen. Although the stranger seemingly turns her head toward the couple and camera, she does not turn around or speed up. Instead, she continues to stroll behind them.

“I did not notice her until I watched the videos back,” Sorensen tells PEOPLE. “In the moment, I was solely focused on him and nothing/no one else.”

Sorensen notes that this was actually the second time the woman was in their frame.

“My fiancé tried to trick me into thinking he was just taking photos of me in the sunset (I knew he was proposing, he was so nervous the entire day, but I played along 😂),” she says. “Whilst he was taking photos of me she came up and was about to walk around the frame but then probably panicked a little and just quickly walked in front of the camera. Which was no big deal, I have been there before myself!”

While Sorensen thinks that the woman likely was just “in her own world, and realized too late what she walked in on,” the majority of her commenters on TikTok disagree. They argue that it appears as if the stranger crashed the proposal “on purpose” because of “jealousy.”

In any case, Ljunggren “knew of the consequences of a public proposal” before planning it. Now, he and Sorensen — who met in 2018, started dating in 2019 and plan to get married in 2026 — just laugh about the situation.

“We honestly just laughed!” Sorensen says. “It was hilarious, she did in no way ruin the moment!”

She continues: “Funny story indeed 😂 I posted a video of the proposal before she walked in, and it’s beautiful, and it captured the moment perfectly.”

“A woman interrupted my proposal to ask us directions to the parking lot,” one user wrote, with another person adding, “My husband proposed to me at a lighthouse and a family started climbing the rocks around it during our proposal.”

Sorensen advises others to be aware of their surroundings, and that goes for both sides. She says that individuals who choose to film in public rather than private need to know the potential risks of doing so and not expect people to act a certain way. Meanwhile, those who happen to witness a proposal could be more considerate.

“If I am ever present to a stranger’s public proposal I will in all honesty stand and watch as this couple celebrates their love, I’m a sucker for a happy ending,” she says.
