Teri Hatcher Says Men Aren't 'Lining Up' to Date Her: 'There's Nobody There'

Teri Hatcheris living her best single life.

“You know when we used to talk about the men we wanted to get with, and now our conversation is, ‘I need you to be the guardian if something happens to me in my last will and testament,’” the comedian, 57, quipped.

From there, Hatcher confessed that her dating world seems a bit dull as of late.

“Okay, so my thing on that — people would say, ‘Are you dating?’ and I’d say, ‘Well I don’t date much anymore because I used to date, and you’d look across the table at the guy and you’d think, ‘Okay, I wonder if we’re gonna end up in bed together,’ and now I look across the table and I just think: when am I gonna have to change this guy’s diapers?” she joked. “It’s just not that fun anymore."

Still, theTomorrow Never Diesactress has no issues with getting older.

“There’s only one way to feel about aging and that’s grateful. Every day above ground is a gift, so I do look at it with a lot of gratitude,” said Hatcher, who turns 60 on Dec. 8, before noting the difference of turning 60 versus turning another milestone age.

“I’m so tongue-tied about it because it’s that balance of you want to just continue to be the best you can every day, but also there’s a lot of acceptance that comes with it, and that is just grace,” she explained. “I feel like when we’re young, we’re so hard on ourselves, and I feel like the expectation of it to be something other than what it is is lessons, and it’s really nice.”

“Is it like that in real life? Do you have a better time in real-life dating?” Shepherd asked.

Hatcher was blunt with her response: “I don’t date much. I mostly date my cat.”

“I’ve been learning French. I’m doing Duolingo on my little app. What I noticed is when I got in bed to do my little Duolingo," she continued. “My cat must’ve been French in another life because she jumps up on my chest and she just sits there on my chest while I do the little game, and then I just pet my cat. It’s better than any date that you could possibly go on.”

Shepherd suggested that Hatcher try dating a younger man, later noting that it seems to work for couples likeCherandAlexander Edwards, who have a 37-year age gap, as well asMadonnaandPatti LaBelle, who have also been linked to younger partners.

“Alright, okay, line ‘em up,” Hatcher said. “I mean people will say that to me. They’re like, ‘We can’t believe you don’t date, they must be lining up out the door,’ and I’m like ‘No.’ No, I open it once in a while, there’s nobody there.”

Though Hatcher is currently single, she was previously married twice — to Jon Tenney from 1994–2003, and Marcus Leithold from 1988–1989.
