Pamela Andersonis exploring the complexities that come with the life of an entertainer inThe Last Showgirl.
The first teaser trailer for the drama debuted Thursday, Nov. 14, showcasing Anderson, 57, in a role that alreadyearned her a Gotham Award nominationfor outstanding lead performance.
News of Coppola’s latest feature-length project, her first since 2020’sMainstream, first broke in February 2024, whenDeadlinereported the cast list and that the film had wrapped production.

“I’ve always wanted to make a movie in Vegas,” Coppola, 37, told Deadlineback in February. “I’m so proud of our cast and crew, especially Pamela. I can’t wait to share her daring and heartfelt performance.”
Coppola recently toldEntertainment Weeklythat Anderson “is theMarilyn [Monroe]of our time,” and she came to the realization while watching the star’s 2023 documentaryPamela, a Love Story.

She also praised Anderson as “very intelligent” and an “interesting human being” while noting her “art background, and I could see she was a woman that was really craving toexpress herself as an actresscreatively.”
“I saw a lot of parallels with [her character] Shelly, but I also saw this was a person that was really hungry to show her talents,” the director added, recalling of considering who would play Shelly, “It was all these actresses from the past I would dream about: ‘Wouldn’t this be an interesting role for Marilyn Monroe?’ "
The Last Showgirlis in select theaters Dec. 13, then nationwide Jan. 10.
