Timothée Chalamet Accepts Award at Santa Barbara Film Fest as He Jokes About His Acting Range: 'Wonka to Bob Dylan'

Timothée Chalametis adding another accolade to his already-impressive collection.

During a moderated conversation with hisDunecostarJosh Brolinonstage at the Arlington Theatre, Chalamet, 29, reflected on his acting range — with a little self-deprecating humor.

“That was the trippiest montage,” the actor told Brolin, 57, after emerging onstage following a collection of his movie clips that was shown to the audience.

“Wonka to Bob Dylan. Really?” Chalamet joked.

Chalamet also discussed playing the legendary singer-songwriter, 83, and how much he looks up to his as a musician and artist.

“I admire Bob Dylan [and] these great lyricists [and] artists that generate the work,” he said. “Maybe one day I’ll generate the work. Maybe one day I’ll write something great.”

This year also marks the SBIFF’s inaugural Arlington Artist of the Year Award. Perthe festival’s website, the honor is “given to an artist who is greatly admired and who has demonstrated an incomparable commitment to film and its craft.”
