Timothée Chalametonce again got his innerBob Dylanon.

The actor, 29, pulled double duty onSaturday Night Liveon Jan. 25, acting as both host and musical guest.

During hisopening monologue, Chalamet detailed that he chose those specific songs as they are his “personal favorites.”

Set in New York in the early 60s,A Complete Unknownspans four years of Dylan’s life, as the 19-year-old from Minnesota becomes one of the most iconic singer/songwriters in history.

The biopic film features Chalamet singing as Dylan, performing popular tracks such as “Mr. Tambourine Man,” “Blowin’ in the Wind,” “The Times They Are A-Changin'” and “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall.”

“Youcan’tre-create it in the studio,” he told the publication. “If I was singing to a prerecorded guitar, then all of a sudden I could hear the lack of an arm movement in my voice.”

Chalamet also recentlyopened up to PEOPLEabout the transformation he went under in order to play Dylan inA Complete Unknown.

“The whole thing was really just a sort of magical experience,” the star said. “I don’t want to ruin it with words because, really, it’s deeply personal to me.”

TheDuneandWonkaactor added, “I can say just being in that time period was awesome, and living that.”
