Tina Knowlesis reflecting on the loss of her “sacred happy place” after it wasdestroyed in the Palisades fire.
Knowles revealed on Instagram that her beloved, oceanfront Malibu bungalow burned down in the blaze, which has been ravaging Los Angeles since Tuesday, Jan. 7.
The businesswoman — who is mom toBeyoncéandSolange Knowles— shared a serene video to the social media platform of her view from the home on Jan. 4,her 71st birthday. The clip featured a pod of dolphins swimming in clear blue water.
“This is what I was looking at on my birthday this past weekend from my tiny little bungalow on the water in Malibu! It was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred Happy Place. Now it is gone !!” she captioned the post.
Knowles went on to thank the “brave men and women in our fire department” who battled the blaze, and “who risked their lives in dangerous conditions.”
“We Thankyou for your dedication and bravery and for saving so many lives,” she wrote. “This could have been so much worse with out [sic] the dedication of the disaster workers and first responders.”
She also offered a message of condolence for the thousands of people who lost their homes in the multiple fires burning in Los Angeles, including the Eaton fire, the Palisades fire and the Hurst fire.

“To the people who lost their homes and belongings, I can only imagine how it feels to lose properties and everything you own ! My heart and deep prayers go out to all of you ❤️,” she wrote. “I cannot imagine the pain and suffering and fear that you are enduring.. I am praying diligently for our beautiful City of Los Angeles !! We are resilient though and we will recover! ‘This too shall pass’❤️”
Thedeath toll from the firesremains unknown, Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said at a press briefing on Thursday, Jan. 9. As of Thursday morning, the Palisades fire had burned 17, 234 acres, with 0% containment.
