Could anAerosmithreunion be in the future?
In an interview with WBUR on Thursday, Jan. 9, Tom Hamilton hinted at a possible reunion for the band and offered an update onSteven Tyler’s vocal injury.
“Steven’s healing process is going really, really well, but it goes at its own pace,” the bassist, 73, said. “Maybe Aerosmith will do something in the future, but it’s a big if and the last thing I want to be doing is to try and push Steven in that direction."
He added, “If we do anything in the future, it would come from him.”

In August 2024, Aerosmith announced theirdecision to retire from touringnearly one year after the frontman, 76,fractured his larynxduring a September 2023 show.
The band, which had only made it to their third stop and postponed their farewell tour several times, announced the news in alengthy statement on Instagram.
It continued: “We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision - as a band of brothers - to retire from the touring stage. We are grateful beyond words for everyone who was pumped to get on the road with us one last time.”
The rock icons also thanked their fanbase for their constant support.“Thanks to you, our Blue Army, that spark caught flame and has been burning for over five decades,” the statement read. “Some of you have been with us since the beginning and all of you are the reason we made rock ‘n’ roll history.”
Added the band: “It has been the honor of our lives to have our music become part of yours. In every club, on every massive tour and at moments grand and private you have given us a place in the soundtrack of your lives.”

In February 2024, Tyler’s daughterMiatold PEOPLE that her famous fatherwas doing “much better” but not quite following doctor’s orders.
“He’s not supposed to be talking sometimes, so I have to literally yell at him and be like, ‘You can’t be on the phone with me right now, lets just text,’ " she said, noting that he talks to his phone instead of typing.
“You can’t shut him up — he can’t close that mouth,” she teased, adding that he’s “very healthy.”
