The Tropicana Las Vegas is officially no more.
On Wednesday, Oct. 9, the iconic building, which first opened on April 4, 1957, was imploded ahead of the construction of a new baseball stadium.
According toToday, 2000 pounds of explosives and four miles of detonating cord were used to carry out the demolition, which occurred in less than 30 seconds.
A fireworks display and drone show were then conducted to mark the end of Tropicana Las Vegas’ story.

The hotel was the third-oldest casino on the strip, and one of the last remaining ties to the city’s mob era, per theAssociated Press.
