Despite his decades-long career in television, conservative talk show hostTucker Carlsonhas kept his four adult children largely out of the spotlight.

Carlson,who left Fox News in 2023, shares daughters Lillie, Hopie and Dorothy and son Buckley with his wifeSusan Andrews. The former Fox News host met Andrews in high school and they got engaged in 1991.

Thecontroversial cable news hostpreviously said there is “nothing more valuable in life” than being a parent: “You will die in the end, and their comfort in your final hours will be worth more than any effort you make on their behalf.”

While the majority of the right-wing pundit’s children have remained private, his only son,Buckley, 28, has gotten involved with politicsover the years. After previously serving as Rep. Jim Banks' (R-Ind.) communications director, he is now joining the press office ofVice President J.D. Vanceas deputy press secretary.

He shares three daughters and one son with his wife

Carlson and Andrews first became parents with the birth of their oldest daughter Lillie. Their younger children, son Buckley and daughters Hopie and Dorothy, were born later.

He started his career in cable news on CNN withCrossfirein 2001. When it was canceled in 2005, Carlson moved to MSNBC to hostTucker, which ran until 2009. During his tenure at MSNBC, he also appeared onDancing with the Starsin its third season in 2006.

Carlson then became a political analyst for Fox in 2009, later joiningFox and Friendsas a weekend co-host before getting his own primetime show,Tucker Carlson Tonight. He also co-founded the right-wing news websiteThe Daily Callerin 2010.

One of his adult children was at the Capitol during the Jan. 6 riots

In aninterview onThe Fourth Watchpodcast, Carlson said that one of his adult children was present at the Capitolduring the riotson Jan. 6, 2021. “I hated what happened on Jan. 6, you know one of my kids was actually in the building when it had happened,” he said. “I was on the phone in real time.”

Carlson didn’t say which of his children was in the area at the time, butThe Hillreportedthat it was likely his son, Buckley, who worked for Rep. Jim Banks' office.

Two of his children share an alma mater

Little is known about Carlson’s children, though some small details have emerged through the years. Son Buckley and daughter Hopie both attended the University of Virginia. Buckleyearned his degreein government and political science in 2019 and was a member of the Zeta Psi fraternity. Hopie also attended St. George’s School, the same boarding school as her parents.

Buckley’s career in politics began in 2019 and has worked on Capitol Hill as a staff assistant, communications director and deputy chief of staff to Indiana Republican Jim Banks.

In 2022,reportsemergedof Rep. Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) allegedly accusing Buckley of using nepotism to get his job in Banks' office. At the time, several MAGA Republicans came to the then-24-year-old’s defense, including Donald Trump Jr. and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.).
