Tyla, 22, accessorized the iconic look with a silver choker and strappy black heels that went up to her knees.

When the late Aaliyah wore the dress 24 years ago, hers was a yellow version, paired with a more classic strappy heel along with red lipgloss and white nail polish.

The dress features a zebra-like striped pattern with a slit up one leg and fur-like fringe along the hem. A short train completes the already bold fashion statement.

When Aaliyah wore the bold animal-inspired dress back in 2000, she was nominated for three VMAs and took home two for best female video and best video from a film for her song “Try Again.”

Cavalli, who died in April 2024, was known for his love of animal prints and designed pieces for many A-lists celebrities throughout his storied career.
