Vin Dieselis expanding on his promise to bring theFast and Furiousmovies back toLos Angeles.
On Monday, Feb. 3, Diesel, 57, shared a video of him andFastcostarMichelle Rodriguezfilming their newHäagen-DazsSuper Bowl commercial"NOT SO FAST, NOT SO FURIOUS" toInstagramas he reflected on the franchise’s history in the the city.
“25 years ago on the streets of Los Angeles, we created something that became bigger than any of us could have imagined. Not just a movie — but a family that stretches across the globe,” Diesel wrote. “Being on PCH, filming this Super Bowl spot, brought it all rushing back. The same stretch of coast where Pablo [Paul Walker] and I raced 25 years ago, practical driving, living those moments that would change our lives forever.”
Diesel noted that he and Rodriguez, 46, reunited with “local crew members I haven’t seen in years” to shoot the Häagen-Dazs commercial, which features the pair relaxing with an ice cream treat as they encounter fellow costarLudacrison the road.
“We’ve all felt that Fast needs to come back to LA. Not just because it’s where we started, but because it’s who we are. Now, seeing our city hurting after these devastating fires, that pull is stronger than ever,” Diesel wrote, referencing January’sseries of wildfiresthat inspired him to commit to filming remainder the remainder ofFast X: Part 2in Los Angeles.

“To every fan who’s made this decades long journey with us — this one’s for you. And to Los Angeles, our first home, our heart — we’re coming back,” he added. “The engines are revving, the family’s gathering, and these streets are calling us home. Back where those quarter-mile races with Brian became legend, where every sunset holds a story. The saga’s coming full circle, and my heart is already racing…”
Diesel previously shared on social media that he decided he will ensure UniversalfilmsFast X: Part 2in L.A.after another costar,Jordana Brewster, reached out to him with that request. The forthcoming 11th entry in theFast and Furioussaga is a sequel to 2023’sFast X;it’s also widely rumored to function as thefranchise’s final entry, more than 20 years after 2001’s originalThe Fast and the Furious.Fast X: Part 2does not yet have a release date.
