Vin Diesel Says NextFast & FuriousMovie Will 'Finally Return Home' to Film in Los Angeles After Devastating Wildfires

Vin Dieselwants to bring the nextFastmovie back to Los Angeles.

On Thursday, Jan. 23, Diesel, 57, shared a photo of himself andFast and Furiousfranchise costarJordana Brewsterembracing onInstagramas he wrote that Brewster, 44, recently asked him to ensure that remaining production onFast X: Part 2take place in Los Angeles to help the city recover from aseries of devastating wildfiresin recent weeks.

“Last week, during the fires that displaced LA… my sister Jordana reached out to me and said… Please have Universal film the rest of Fast X Part 2 in LA,” Diesel wrote in a caption to his post. “Los Angeles needs it now more than ever… Los Angeles is where Fast and Furious started filming 25 years ago… and now Fast will finally return home. All love…”

Brewster herself responded to Diesel’s pledge in a comment on his post, in which she wrote, “Our home ♥️,”

Fast X: Part 2will serve as the sequel to 2023’sFast X; the next film is also widely rumored to function as thefranchise’s final entry, more than 20 years after 2001’s originalThe Fast and the Furious. Diesel and Brewster portray sibling duo Dom Toretto and Mia Toretto across the series. Diesel himself has referred to the upcoming movie as a “finale” since at least February 2024, when he teased fans about progress on the sequel after attending a production meeting.

“This grand finale is not just an ending;it’s a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together,” he wrote on Instagram at that time.

Despite Diesel and Brewster’s plans to ensureFast X: Part 2films in Los Angeles, some residents of the city’s Angelino Heights neighborhood — where the character Dom Toretto owns Bob’s Market and lives in the films — previouslythreatened to protest filming forFast Xin 2022in the area over complaints that theFast and Furiousmovies have inspired dangerous street racing in the neighborhood.
