Visibly Upset Josh Allen Somberly Says 'It's Not Fun' to Lose to Chiefs for 4th Time in Playoffs

Josh Allenis reflecting on yet another missed opportunity to beat the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs.

“It’s not fun,” Allen, 28, said. “But to be the champs, you got to beat the champs and we didn’t do it tonight.”

He added that the Bills were “making plays today,” but that they had to make “one more” and couldn’t ultimately come back, losing the game and the chance to earn a trip to the Super Bowl, 32-29.

Allen had another standout game, going 22-for-34 and finishing with 237 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

The matchup came down to the wire when the Bills tied the game at 29-all in the third quarter. KickerHarrison Butkerput the Chiefs up three with a field goal in the fourth, and the Bills ultimately weren’t able to get around Kansas City’s defense in the final minutes.

It was the fourth time in the last five seasons that the Chiefs haveended Buffalo’s season and championshipdreams.

Had the Bills won, it would have been their first return to the Super Bowl since the 1990s, when the franchise endured four straight years in the big game and coming up short each time.

As Allen fielded questions from the media late Sunday, the NFL veteran looked down and took long pauses before assessing the outcome — but he gave praise where it was due.

“I’ve got so much pride in our guys, showing up every day,” Allen said, and added that the Chiefs “had a good plan tonight and again they made one more play than we did.”
