Kobie Turner has a devoted supporter both on and off the field: his wife, Alissa Villanueva.

TheLos Angeles Ramsplayer met Villanueva in high school choir, and the pair started dating in December 2017. After years of a long-distance relationship, they got engaged in April 2023, and thecouple were marriedon March 8, 2025, in Maidens, Va.

“Barbie is all about empowering young women, showing them you can achieve your dreams,” Goo said. “And there’s one go-getter gal in my life, my fiancée.”

He also shared the moment he realized she was the one. While at a theme park, Turner admitted he was feeling “grumpy” and sitting alone on a bench when Villanueva approached him with an unexpected gesture.

“I looked up and saw her hand — she was asking me to dance,” Goo said. “I instantly melted at her kindness, playfulness, and confidence. I realized in that moment I’d met my mushy match, and I cannot wait to become her Mr. Goo next year.”

She went to high school in Washington, D.C.

According to herInstagram, Villanueva graduated from Centreville High School in Washington, D.C. in 2018 — which is also where her love story with Turner began.

Villanueva shared onTikTokthat she met Turner while in choir class during her sophomore and his junior year. They grew closer while on a choir trip to Disney a year later and began developing feelings for one another while preparing for an upcoming duet.

“I literally panicked in the beginning of the song and forgot the words, but Kobie helped me and I was able to sing it,” she said. “During this whole process, I really started to fall for Kobie hard. He is one of the most encouraging and helpful people I know.”

Villanueva added that he “really helps push you to do the things that you really want to do.”

In March 2025, their high school choir teacher, Lynne Babcock, officiated their wedding — something Villanueva told PEOPLE they “knew we wanted from the very beginning of wedding planning.”

They started dating in December 2017

Turner and Villanueva began officially dating in December 2017, according to herInstagram. However, she shared on TikTok that they had begun developing feelings for one another nearly nine months earlier.

When Turner left for college ahead of Villanueva, their relationship quickly transitioned into a long-distance one.

Turner proposed to Villanueva in April 2023

In April 2023, Villanueva announced onInstagramthat she and Turner had gotten engaged.

“FINALLY!” she wrote. “Forever and always yes!!”

Meanwhile, Turnerwrotethat he was “stepping forward into a new life” with Villanueva.

She supports him on and off the football field

Villanueva has documented her life with Turner for many years on TikTok, fromtheir cross-country move to Californiatomaking their first home-cooked mealin their new apartment — and her videos might just be his secret weapon on the field.

In November 2023, she made aTikTokjoking, “Hey Kobie, isn’t it so crazy that because of my TikTok you got nominated for rookie of the week?”

“You’re my good luck charm,” Turner responded. “Let’s keep doing whatever it is you’re doing. The TikTok gods love it and they’re loving up on me.”

They got married in March 2025
