Hulu’sParadisehooked viewers immediately with its unique storyline.

Hulu renewedParadisefor a second season in February 2025, perDeadline. While speaking toEntertainment Weekly, Fogelman said viewers should brace themselves for an “intense, surprising and emotional” season 2.

“The second season is going to turn what you thought the first season was — and what Paradise and the bunker was — a little bit on its head,” he teased.

How didParadiseseason 1 end?

At the end ofParadiseseason 1, the mystery of who killed President Bradford is finally solved. Viewers learn that Trent (Ian Merrigan), a former project manager for the bunker, killed him with a rotary drill bit after sneaking into the city and posing as a librarian named Eli.

Xavier reports back to Redmond with the information and demands his daughter Presley (Aliyah Mastin) be released from her custody. With little remorse, Redmond informs the agent that his daughter is dead — at least she assumes as much after Secret Service agent Jane Driscoll (Nicole Brydon Bloom), who was holding Presley hostage, told her the problem had been “eliminated.”

Xavier flies into a blind rage. He kills Redmond’s bodyguards, and just as he’s about to kill her, Jane arrives and puts a bullet in Redmond’s chest. The agent then reveals to Xavier that his daughter is alive and well.

According to Fogelman, the second season ofParadisewill pick up where season 1 left off — with Xavier on a mission to find his wife and bring her safely back to the bunker.

“We’re going to live in both worlds,” the series creator toldThe Hollywood Reporterin March 2025. “[We’ll] go on a journey with Xavier — a very exciting, emotional, big journey — and then we will also be living in our downstairs world of the bunker, and forces will eventually be colliding. That’s basically the plan.”

Enuka Okuma, Aliyah Mastin and Percy Daggs IV, who plays Xavier’s son, James, are also likely to return.

During an interview withThe Hollywood Reporterin February 2025,Sterling said he “couldn’t be happier” about Hulu’s decision to renewParadisefor a second season — and he can’t wait for more scenes with Nicholson.

“Miss Julianne Nicholson is an absolute monster in this show. I mean ‘monster’ as an actor, but also monster as in Xavier wants to shoot her,” he joked. “She’s so good at being bad, and it’s so much fun to play with her in these scenes.”
