Woman Accused of Stabbing Sister to Death After Wedding: 'Thought I Just Nipped Her'

The trial for a Baltimore woman accused of stabbing her sister to death after they returned home from a wedding last August is set to begin next month, according to several reports.

Brianna, 29, has been charged with first-degree murder, according to CBS, WBAL, and localWMAR.

The outlets report that Alyssa and Brianna attended a wedding earlier on the night of Aug. 24, 2024, before returning home and getting into a minor argument. The argument escalated throughout the course of the night, and authorities allege that Brianna then stabbed Alyssa in the neck with a knife, according to CBS.

WMAR reported last August that it was unclear what the sisters got in an argument about, but that a witness witnessed the sisters in an argument near their car before seeing Alyssa say, “Oh my god” and then collapse to the ground with Brianna standing over the top of her.

The outlet reports that an officer who responded to the scene was able to ask Alyssa, “Where is the suspect?” Alyssa then pointed to her sister and replied, “Right there,” according to WMAR.

Alyssa was transported to the University of Maryland Hospital where she was later pronounced dead, CBSreportedat the time.

In an interview with investigators later that night, CBS reported that Brianna told authorities she “used a utility knife” in an attempt to intimidate her sister and alleged that she didn’t mean to kill her.

“I never actually tried, I pinned it up to her as a warning, I need to shut the [blank] up," Brianna allegedly told police, according to CBS.Once officers informed Brianna that her sister had died, the 29-year-old reportedly responded with shock: “Oh f—, I thought I just nipped her,” she said before breaking down in tears, according to WMAR.AGoFundMehas raised more than $14,000 since Alyssa’s killing. The mother of three was remembered as a “loving mom” in the memorial post who leaves behind two sons and a daughter who now have “a whole new life to navigate” without their mother.
