In a post onReddit’s “Am I the A——?” forum, the 35-year-old woman shared that her favorite show isRuPaul’s Drag Race, and she looks forward to watching the new episode when it airs every week.
“It’s recently caused a lot of contention in our relationship because he feels that he shouldn’t have to be relegated to the basement on Friday nights after he works hard,” the woman wrote, before arguing that she doesn’t think herDrag Racesessions are that “unreasonable.”
The wife also pointed out that she is certainly “not forcing” her husband to go to the basement and that he could “easily go into the bedroom instead.”

“I can absolutely understand not wanting to watch that show, but any normal person would just go do something else for a little bit, no big deal,” one person wrote.
Others pointed out that the husband is making a choice to “sulk away” to the basement when he has plenty of other options.
“He doesn’t need to go to the basement — he decides to go the basement,” one commenter argued. “He could wear headphones and watch something on his phone if he wanted to. He could also go to your bedroom instead of the basement if that’s an option. He’s intentionally making it inconvenient for himself because he isn’t getting his way.”

Someone else even suggested that the husband could turn the situation into an advantage, writing, “Sounds like he’s got an hour and a half every week to finish the basement.”
“If this was a man watching a sports event, no one would even be commenting on the length of the game. He will live,” one commenter wrote, while another added, “Ask any wife of a sports fan if 1.5 hours for 16 weeks is shorter than all the seasons of any sport.”
