A woman is demanding her children be allowed to go to her sister’s child-free wedding.

The bride, 30, explained in a post onReddit’s popular “Am I the A——?” forum that her sister, 35, is “really upset” about the child-free policy at her wedding.

“We both feel like it’s our big day, and we want it to be an adult celebration,” the poster wrote of the couple’s decision to not include children.

However, the sister feels it’s “unfair” for the bride and groom, 32, to not allow her two children to go.

“She said that as family, her kids should be allowed to attend, and that it’s unfair to exclude them,” the bride wrote. “I explained that it’s not personal, but she’s been pushing back hard and even threatened to not come if she can’t bring them.”

Although the woman wants her sister to be at her wedding, she’s sticking to her policy. As a result, there’s now “tension” in the family.

The bride asks the forum: “AITA (Am I the A——?) for not bending the rules for her kids?”

“You’re asking her to celebrate welcoming someone into the family, while not wanting to celebrate with the family members most important to her,” one Redditor wrote in part. “Can’t imagine being so strict with a no-kids rule that I would stick to that and ruin my relationship with my sibling, but it sounds like you’ve already chosen that path. You’re starting a new life with your partner….do you really want to start your new life with a fracture in your old?”

Another person commented, “NTA, child-free weddings are common and usually never personal. If she can’t accept that, she can just not attend.”
