He added, “There are things that are thrown at you that have to test both of you and that will test that relationship. The thing is no one is right, no one is wrong. You have to work through it together."

Zara told PEOPLE in 2023 she has introduced her children to one of her passions: horseback riding. The family has been photographed supporting Zara at several equestrian events over the years.

“Thanks so much for all your kind messages,”Mike tweetedwhenMia was born. “Definitely the best day of my life today, so happy.! The girls are both doing great!”

Mia is the eldest child of Zara and Mike, but when she was born, she already had some royal cousins: Uncle Peter Phillips’ daughters,SavannahandIsla, and Prince William andKate Middleton’s son,Prince George.

“We’ve got a good littlecrew of royal youngstersgoing on there now,” Mike toldHello!in 2016. “They all seem to get on and enjoy each other’s company, and it’ll be good to watch them grow up together.”

When Zara had a miscarriage, she and her husband credited Mia for helping them get through the difficult time.

“The saving grace for us has been Mia, our daughter who is now 3,” Mike toldThe Sunday Timesin May 2017. “However down we feel, she will come running up in our faces. When I was playing, I hardly saw her; now we can see her grow up. I can take her swimming, and I can take her to Ninja Tots. You’ll never be able to see her there because she disappears in a puff of smoke.”

As she’s gotten older, Mia has taken part in some official royal events. In 2018,she was a bridesmaidinPrincess Eugenie’s wedding toJack Brooksbank. She also captured royal fans' hearts in December 2022 formessing around with Prince Georgewhen the royal family attended a Christmas church service at Sandringham.

Zara and Mike’s second child,Lena Elizabeth Tindall, was born on June 18, 2018, in Stroud, England, near the family’s home in Gloucestershire. She is currently 23rd in the line of succession. While Lena’s middle name pays homage to her great-grandmother,her first name— which is pronounced “Lay-na” — was chosen just because Zara and Mike liked it.

Zara publicly shared thatshe had two miscarriagesprior to welcoming Lena. “You need to go through a period where you don’t talk about it because it’s too raw but, as with everything, time’s a great healer,” Zara told the U.K.‘sSunday Timesin 2018.

Soon after Lena’s birth, Mike spoke to PEOPLE aboutlife with two children. “It’s been brilliant so far,” he said. “So far, so good. I can’t complain. [Lena] eats, sleeps.”

The youngest member of the Tindall family isLucas Philip Tindall, who was born on March 21, 2021. Lucas’ middle name is in honor of both Zara’s grandfather Prince Philip and Mike’s father, who is also named Philip. On top of that, Zara’s maiden name is Phillips. Lucas is 24th in line to the throne.

The former athlete said that Zara’s friend was with them and realized they wouldn’t have time to get to the hospital for the birth. “So, it was run into the gym, get a mat, get into the bathroom, get a mat on the floor, towels down, ‘brace-brace-brace,’ ” he recalled. “Fortunately, the midwife, who was going to meet us at the hospital, wasn’t that far away, so she drove up, got there just as we’d assumed the [position]. And then the second midwife arrived just after the head had arrived."

The Tindall kids are close with their cousins, and Lucas shared an important moment with one family member not long after he was born. In November 2021, Lucas andAugust Brooksbank(Eugenie and Brooksbank’s first son) werechristened at the same time, and Queen Elizabeth — who had recently faced health setbacks — and other family members attended the religious ceremony. “It was a lovely day," Mike said on his podcast.

Like his siblings, Lucas has already gotten an up-close look at his mother’s equestrian skills. In April 2022, the whole familywatched Zara competeat the Barefoot Retreats Burnham Market International Horse Trials. He’s also beendubbed his father’s mini-meafter he was photographed sitting on Mike’s shoulders during one of Zara’s riding competitions in August 2023.
